Council approves funding for Niles fireworks show
The Niles City Council has approved a $2,200 contribution toward this year’s Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce fireworks show.
The unanimous decision was made during Monday’s regular meeting.
The fireworks show will take place July 3 on a portion of the Jerry Tyler Memorial Airport property.
The council’s decision is contingent upon the approval of the Airport Board.
Niles City Reserve Police officers have been requested to patrol the area and assist in traffic control. Niles City Fire personnel will provide stand-by fire protection, supported by Niles and Howard Townships.
The impact on the council’s budget includes the $2,200 contribution, $640 for police presence and $1,703 for fire department presence.
