IICD to open facility to community

The Institute for International Cooperation and Development in Dowagiac will open its doors Saturday for the community to tour the facility and better understand what the nonprofit organization does.

Volunteers and employees of IICD, 56968 Dailey Rd., Dowagiac, will be on hand to answer questions, provide guided tours of the grounds and give information on how local residents can become involved.

The open house begins at 1 p.m. with an international lunch, followed by a welcome message and brief overview of the afternoon’s schedule.

Between 2 and 4 p.m., guests can learn about “Stations” gardening and farming, irrigation systems, classrooms and teams, governing the schools, community meetings and listen to “Voices from Africa.” The open house will wrap up with coffee and cake.

For more information, contact IICD at (269) 445-7517 or email fightpoverty@iicdmichigan.org.
