The Cyber Cafe at Niles High School will be able to make significant improvements to its infrastructure and technology thanks to a $20,000 donation by First Source Bank Monday.
Principal Jim Knoll said the money would be used to purchase new laptops and signage and help fund the cafe’s wireless system and air conditioning.
“We really needed a space like this at the high school and the funding from First Source Bank is a big part of that,” Knoll said.
The Niles Education Foundation played a large role in obtaining the donation from First Source Bank.
The Cyber Cafe should be finished by the start of next school year, according to Knoll.
“Then we will update it quite often because, where it stands right now, our kids actually love it,” he said.
The Cyber Cafe is a space which acts as a common area, student lounge, small cafe  and place where students can get college and career counseling.
