CASSOPOLIS - Haunted Woods, sponsored by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Cass County Community Policing and the Cass County Parks Department, is trying something new this year with trophies for the "Most Screamers" on the scare trail and the "Happiest Kids" on the kids trail.
Groups are being sought to sponsor a "scare theme."
Each group signs up to build its own scare on the trail.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office will be purchasing two large trophies.
On nights of the event - Friday, Oct. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 16 - a judge will walk through each trail as well as gather input from people who have gone through.
The group with the most screamers on the scare trail and the happiest kids on the kids trail will be awarded the traveling trophy.
The trophy will remain with the winning group until the following year.
If you do not win again, it will be relinquished to the new winners.
