Hartman, Perry qualify for state track finals June 3

CONSTANTINE - Ryan Hartman and Kyle Perry were the lone qualifiers for Brandywine at Friday night's Division 3 Regional Track Meet held at Constantine High School.
Buchanan's Dan Toth also qualified for the state finals, which will be held June 3 at Comstock Park.
Perry finished second in the pole vault with a height of 11-6. Toth finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.2.
Hartman took third in the discus with a toss of 141-feet-3. That toss broke the Brandywine school record.
The old record was 139-1 and was set in 1983.
Also placing for Brandywine, but not qualifying for the state finals were Lance Taliaferro in the pole vault (third), Justin Price in the 400-meters (fifth) and the Bobcats' 800-meter (sixth) and 1,600-meter (sixth) relay teams.
Berrien Springs nipped Bangor to win the regional championship. The Shamrocks finished with 98.33 points, while Bangor had 97.5 points.
Kalamazoo Hackett was third, Constantine fourth and Schoolcraft fifth.
Brandywine finished eighth and Buchanan 12th.
Neither Brandywine nor Buchanan had a state qualifier in the girl's portion of the meet.
Paw Paw won the regional championship with 82.5 points. Coloma took second with 70 points and Kalamazoo Christian third with 66 points. Bangor and Schoolcraft placed fourth and fifth respectively.
Brandywine finished 13th and Buchanan finished 15th.
Brandywine's Michelle Smith finished fourth in the pole vault, while Ashley Harrell was fifth in the 3,200-meters.
Buchanan's Lindsey Borr was sixth in the 400-meters.
