State Rep. Neal Nitz on Wednesday toured the U.S. BioEnergy ethanol plant in Woodbury to gain insight in preparing Berrien County for construction of the NextGen Energy ethanol production facility, which will bring more jobs to the community and be one alternative to the nation's energy needs.
The ethanol plant will be built in Watervliet and could create up to 350 direct and indirect jobs for Southwest Michigan residents. Nitz continues to work on passage of legislation that will assist in additional production of ethanol and biodiesel fuels in Michigan because of its strong agriculture and auto industry base.
