CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports his office responded to Indian Lake Road in Silver Creek Township on Saturday, May 6, at 2:30 a.m. for a personal-injury accident.
Kathryn Vandyke, 47, of Niles, was southbound on Indian Lake Road when she left the roadway and struck a tree.
She was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac, then airlifted to Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo to be treated for her injuries.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Indian Lake Fire Department, Sister Lake Fire Department and Dowagiac Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Service.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
