Back-to-back battles

NILES - The Brandywine tennis team hosted Berrien Springs Monday afternoon at Plym Park for a Lakeland Conference match, which ended in favor of the Shamrocks, 5-3.
Picking up wins for the Bobcats were Billy McDonald at No. 3 singles, Tyler Espick at No. 4 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Pat Van Laere and Adam Simons.
McDonald defeated Jon Bagby 6-3, 7-6. Espick went three sets with Drew Teed, winning the first 6-4 and the third 6-2. He fell in the second 6-4.
Van Laere and Simons took an easy 6-1, 6-4 win over Steve Mauro and Brandon Mauro.
At No. 1 singles, Cory Barber suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss to David Moskola and Chris Harrison fell to James Yoon 6-0, 6-1.
The No. 3 doubles team of Travis Bakeman and Greg Beaver were defeated by Jillian Shelton and Lola Idoua 7-6, 6-2 and Brian Krisher and Will Johns were defeated by Kasey Zandarski and Peter Ives 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 doubles.
The Bobcats have another tough challenge on their hands on Wednesday when they host Buchanan for another Lakeland Conference match.
The Bucks are undefeated in the conference. Match times are set to begin at 4 p.m.
