Mary A. (Purtha) Vaillancourt, 49, of West Glendora Road, Buchanan, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 3011 at Silverbrook Manor in Niles following an extended illness.
She was born April 14, 1962 in Michigan City, Ind. to Neil Lee Purtha and Edna J. (Stingley) Purtha. She lived of her life in this area.
Mary worked at an apartment complex in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle in Three Oaks. She enjoyed helping others.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lee of Buchanan, Dionyetta Barnes of Chicago and Donna Barnes of Chicago; son, David Lee of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; mother, Edna J. Smith of Berrien Springs; sisters, Kelly Gardner of Stevensville, Ronda Martin of Berrien Springs, Suzann Price of Buchanan and Loretta Hillock of Berrien Springs; and brothers, Edward Smith of Berrien Springs and Vincent Purtha of Berrien Springs.
A memorial gathering will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles with Suzann Price of Buchanan officiating.
Friends may call beginning one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
