NILES - The Niles varsity soccer team had a tough time against St. Joseph Wednesday evening as the Lady Vikes fell to the Bears 7-0 in a Big 16 West Division action.
Rebecca Teske had 14 saves at the net for Niles.
The Vikings have a young field of players, but they competed. They have a lot to learn, but they will surely improve immensely.
Freshmen Caitlyn Touhey, Megan Horn, Alyssa Booe and Sara Tyler played well for the Vikings in the midfield and forward positions. Horn and Touhey have scored the two goals the Vikings have scored so far this season, with Mandie Pingel racking up two assists.
Claire Molnar and Abby Mitchell played well in the defensive position and Pingel, Courtney Teske and Dakota stepped in with great effort too.
Niles will play on Saturday at the Dowagiac Invitational and on Monday the Vikes will be home against Lakeshore.
