NILES - A goal in each half gave visiting Dowagiac a 2-0 non-conference victory over host Brandywine Monday evening in the season opener for both schools.
Dowagiac's Jill Billingham scored in the 23rd minute of the first half, while Briana Hunsberger scored in the 47th minute to complete the scoring.
Dowagiac was actually outshot by the Lady Bobcats, 16-15.
The Chieftains' Amber Clark, who is out of soccer for the first time, came up with 13 saves.
Billingham's goal was assisted by Hunsberger, while Billingham returned the favor in the second half and assisted on Hunsberger's goal.
Williams said that the win was a nice way to open up the season.
The Bobcats will be back in action on April 10 when they travel to Paw Paw for another non-conference match set to begin at 5 p.m.
