NILES - It came down to the final match Friday night at the Parchment Indoor Tournament.
Buchanan and Parchment went head-to-head for the tournament win as the No. 4 doubles teams battled for the victory.
In the end, Parchment took the 8-4 win, giving the host team bragging rights to the title with 27 points.
The Bucks took second place with 26 points, however, head coach Steve Bender is not frowning on the runners-up spot.
Last year, Parchment finished sixth in the state finals and return 10 players from that team. This year, they are ranked third in the pre-season rankings.
Buchanan got championship wins from Brad Burns at No. 4 singles, Andrew Gordon and True Sulier at No. 1 doubles, Dillon Bailey and Andrew Scoggin at No. 2 doubles and Sean Thornton and Andrew Frederick at No. 3 doubles.
Taking second place finishes were Ryan Skene at No. 3 singles and Eric Lentz and Josh Niven at No. 4 doubles.
Bender stated the Bucks were down a break twice and match point, but found a way to grab the 9-8 win.
Buchanan will hit the road again on Thursday when it travels to St. Joseph. Match times are set for 4 p.m.
