Bucks take second at Indoor tournament

NILES - The Buchanan varsity tennis team was hoping to return home with a win from the 18th annual Buck Indoor Classic Saturday.
Instead, the Bucks settled for second as Marshall went on to claim the win with a total of 20 points.
Buchanan ended the day with 15 points, Whitehall had 11 and Vicksburg had three.
Flight champions for the Bucks were Andrew Gordon and True Sulier at no. 1 doubles and Dilon Bailey and Andrew Scoggin at no. 2 doubles. The two doubles teams both finished with a 3-0 record.
The no. 4 doubles team of Eric Lentz and Andy Hartman went 2-1 on the day.
Runners-up for Buchanan were Ryan Skene, who went 2-1 at no. 2 singles. Brad Burns went 2-1 at no. 3 singles and Andrew Frederick and Sean Thornton took second place at no. 3 doubles.
The Bucks will travel to Grand Rapids on Friday to take part in the Parchment Indoor Tournament, which is set to begin at 6 p.m.
