Winter sports season wrapping up

The winter sports season is fastly slipping away and that means area athletes are preparing for the spring sports season, which is only a few weeks away.
The Niles and Buchanan boys basketball teams are the last remaining teams for winter sports. Both will be in action this week as the district basketball tournament is well under way.
The Vikings will take on St. Joseph tonight at 7 p.m. at St. Joe High School.
The Bucks will travel to Bridgman on Thursday, where they will face the winner of the Berrien Springs-River Valley game, which is being played on Wednesday.

Also be sure to check the briefs section on the sports page as information on spring sports is being posted.
The spring season will officially kick off on Saturday, March 18, when the Buchanan boys tennis team hosts the Buck Indoor Tennis Tournament.
All coaches from all levels of sports are reminded to turn results in after events. Results may be dropped off at the Niles Daily Star office, 217 N. 4th St., faxed to 683-2175, e-mailed to erika.pickles@leaderpub.com, or you may call them in, 687-7703.
