George I. Huff, a longtime resident of Dowagiac, MI, and beloved figure in the local community, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Kalamazoo, MI.
Born on August 31, 1970, George was known for his loving nature and his capacity to bring warmth and joy to the lives of those around him. After more than two decades as a dedicated maintenance worker for Creative Foam, he won the admiration and respect of his colleagues through his strong work ethic and amiable disposition.
In his leisure time, George was deeply involved with the Cass County Derby, a passion he shared with his son Josh Huff and granddaughter Riley Huff. The derby was more than a hobby for George; it was a thread that wove family and community tightly together, and he will be remembered for his enthusiasm and enjoyment of these spirited events.
George’s family meant the world to him, and he is survived by his loving son Josh Huff; siblings Tina Irving, Virginia (Charles) Collect, Shari (Randy) Osborne, Tammy (Edward) West, and Daniel Huff Jr; and his cherished grandchildren, which include Riley, Kayson, Bryson Reese, and Scarlet Huff. He is preceded in departure by his dear father Daniel Huff Sr., his mother Flossie Ottinger, and siblings Bill Ottinger and Flossie Huff.
Visitation for George will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a Memorial Service to be held at 12:00pm at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, 61453 M-51, Niles, MI 49120. Gardens
