2024 school board election results

Listed below are the unofficial contested election results from Berrien and Cass county for schools within Leader Publications’ coverage area.

Brandywine Community Schools

With three seats open on the Brandywine Community Schools Board of Education, current board members Jessica Crouch (2,222) and Holly Pomranka (1,843) were re-elected and Shannon Daniels (1,560) was elected as well. Also running were Ryan Candler (1,002) and Jeremy Colby (930). 

Buchanan Community Schools

With two seats open on the Buchanan Community Schools Board of Education, current BCS secretary Kelly Bates-Laesch (3,430) has been re-elected to the board and Jacob Brown (3,146) was elected as well.

Cassopolis Public Schools

With three seats open on the Cassopolis Public Schools Board of Education, Vice President Amanda Smego (2,068) and Aaron Steensma (1,769) were re-elected to the board and Joshua Stoops was elected as well. Also running were Della Bundle (1,201) and Joseph Lenex (868).

Dowagiac Union Schools

With 2,562 votes, Dominique Hood-Charles was elected to the DUS Board of Education, taking the seat held by outgoing member Carrie Freeman.

Edwardsburg Public Schools

With three seats open on the Edwardsburg Public Schools Board of Education, Tammy Niemier (3,015) and Tony Overmyer(2,732) were re-elected to the board and Nick Yoder (2,514) was elected to the board. Also running were Alan Miller (1,803) and Arin Johnson (1,760).
