Buddy Lynn Stanley, a man of dedicated service and unwavering reliability, went to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior on August 8, 2024. Born on November 29, 1933, in Marion, Illinois, Buddy firmly established his roots in Niles, Michigan, where he lived a full and rich life.
Buddy was a loving husband to Darlene Stanley, his wife of 70 years. Their timeless bond was a testament to his affectionate and supportive nature. Buddy was not just a successful entrepreneur but a reliable pillar of strength to his family. After retiring from the Bayer Company, he owned and operated Stanley Appliance Repair for 50 years, a testament to his dedication and industrious spirit. His resilience and determination were mirrored in his family, which includes his children, John (Vicky) Stanley, Debra Williams, and Colleen (Norm) Coshow; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Stanley, his children Victor Stanley and Pam Stanley, and his siblings, Troy Stanley, Wayne Winchester, Juanita Moore, Lloyd Stanley, John Jr., Kenneth Stanley, Maxine Moore, Shirlene Penhale, Glenna Powell, Joe Stanley, and Val Jean Stanley.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid bowler, who bowled for many years at numerous bowling alleys, and even scored a 300. Buddy loved watching Notre Dame Football and Basketball, as well as the Chicago Cubs.
Buddy’s life was a clear reflection of his name – always there for his loved ones. His legacy will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A visitation and memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Bertrand Bible Church, 1008 Ontario Road, Niles, Michigan. The visitation will begin at 11:00 am EDT, followed by the memorial service at 1:00 pm EDT. Burial will be held at a later date in Bertrand Bible Church Cemetery in Niles, Michigan.
