NILES — A boy was injured in a single-UTV crash Sunday in Pokagon Township.

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single UTV crash on the dirt road portion Brush Lake Road at approximately 2:37 p.m. Sunday in Pokagon Township. The investigation showed that a UTV driven by a young male lost control on the rocks of the dirt road and rolled the UTV onto its top.

The young male driver did not sustain any injuries.  His passenger, another young male, was transported to South Bend Memorial for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Assisting agencies on scene were Indian Lake Fire department, Eau Claire Fire Department, Pokagon Tribal Police, Michigan State Police, Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, and Medic 1 Ambulance.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
