DOWAGIAC — Southwestern Michigan College Coach Rodell Davis has signed the fifth member of his 2024-25 men’s basketball recruiting class.
Cassopolis’ Davion Goins has signed his National Junior College Athletic Association letter of intent to continue his academic and basketball career in 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse.
“We are thrilled to officially add Davion to the Roadrunner family,” Davis said. “He is one of the best players to play in the Southwestern Michigan area’s recent history. His athletic ability is off the charts and his game has greatly improved since playing at Cass. He possesses length and a body built to be a big-time defender.”
Goins is joining Damontae May, of Kankakee, Illinois; Kaiden Bierhalter, of Watervliet; and Javon Mason and Antwan “Chick” Callahan Jr., of Benton Harbor.
The Roadrunners are coming off a 16-12 season, which included a 6-6 Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference record, and a spot in the Great Lakes District C Tournament.
SMC’s 2024-2025 season will again begin with the Roadrunner Classic on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse. Once finalized, opponents and times will be announced.
