CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a personal injury accident near the intersection of Hospital Street and M-60 at approximately 8:47 p.m. Saturday.

Investigation shows that a 20-year-old Edwardsburg resident, Breanna Kowalczyk, was traveling westbound on Hospital Street when she disregarded the stop sign at Hospital and M-60.

Kowalczyk lost control of the vehicle, going down an embankment before coming to rest in a wooded lot on the west side of M-60. Kowalczyk was transported to South Bend Memorial hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Seatbelts were worn and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting in this crash were the Cassopolis Police Department, Pokagon Tribal Police, Central Cass Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance service.
