Earl Robert Brunty, age 80 of Cassopolis, departed his earthly life to begin his eternal life on Friday June 14, 2024. Earl transitioned very peaceful and quietly.
His life began on Oct. 17, 1943 in Eupora, Mississippi, the first of eight children born to Dan and Carrie Bunty. Earl graduated from Webster County Training School in 1963 and then moved to Cassopolis, Michigan. On Dec. 24, 1964 he married Erma Goins in Cassopolis, Michigan, to that union they were blessed with two children, Monica and Kenny.
Earl worked for Dock Foundry in Three Rivers, Michigan for 45 years. He played on several bowling leagues starting in the early 70’s. He earned many trophies and competed in in many competitions which took him to Las Vegas Nevada, Reno Nevada, Corpus Christi Texas, Tulsa Oklahoma and Albuquerque, New Mexico, to name a few. One of his joys of bowling was the many friends he met and the opportunity to bowl with his wife Erma and son Kenny. When he was younger, he enjoyed racing cars. He enjoyed watching westerns, game shows and sports, Earl loved playing with his grandkids and going to the casino with Monica. Earl attended church and was a Deacon at Full Gospel Fellowship.
Earl will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Monica (Mo Morgan) Brunty and Shatina (Zeus HaanKwenda) Brunty, both of Cassopolis; three sons, Nike Brunty, Tyler Brunty and Zadden (Telayah Coats) Brunty all of Cassopolis; nine granddaughters, Llaisaane Manu, Charlotte Brunty of California, Nakisha Wahington of Niles, Terriana “TT” Walker and Honesty Triplett of Indiana, Kendalle O’ Brie of Cassopolis, Leighton Seria Brunty of Indiana, Za’ Riya, Delilah and Nai’lani Brunty all of Cassopolis; three grandsons, Za’Kyria Crews of Indiana, Kaid Haankwenda and Kaizen Haankwenda, both of Cassopolis; one brother James Brunty of Georgia; two sisters, Janice (William) Jennings and Mattie Dumas, both of Europa, Mississippi, one brother in law Roger Goins of Cassopolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erma; son, Kenneth James Brunty; one granddaughter, Taytum Brielle; his parents; two sisters, Earline and Meveline Jean; one brother, Dan Jr,; three brothers in law, Clarence, George and Dick; four sisters in law, Ida Mae, Margaret, Betty and Cynthia.
Family and friends will gather at 12 Noon Wednesday, June 26, 2024 until time of service at 1 p.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Earl will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Sumnerville, Michigan.
