Seven Bucks, one Bobcat earn all-regional honors

BUCHANAN — Regional champion Buchanan, after dominating the Division 3 Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association All-District team, had seven of those eight players named All-Region.
All-region is the second step in the MHSSCA All-State process. Those who earn all-regional status are now eligible to be named Division 3 All-State.
Earning all-regional status for the Bucks were Caitlyn Horvath, Faith Bartley, Hannah Herman, Camille Lozmack, Hailee Kars and Keegan May.
Buchanan’s Rachel Carlson was named Coach of the Year.
Brandywine’s Chloe Parker also earned all-regional status.
Horvath hit .509 with two doubles, a triple and 18 RBIs, while Bartley hit .450 with nine doubles, two triples, three home runs and 27 RBIs.
Herman hit .510 with 13 doubles, three triples, three home runs and 45 RBIs and Lozmack hit .452 with nine doubles, four triples, three home runs and 46 RBIs.
Berry hit .429 with nine doubles, five triples, 10 home runs and 45 RBIs.
May hit .387 with nine doubles, two home runs and 35 RBIs.
Kara was 20-5 on the year with 143 strikeouts. She also hit .392 with 11 doubles, a triple four home runs and 39 RBIs.
Parker hit .507 with 10 doubles, a triple, six home runs and 31 RBIs.
