GRAND RAPIDS — Senior Aiden Krueger, of Niles, ran one final race in his career at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids, and made it one to remember.
Krueger, who just missed the school record at the Division 2 Regional the previous week, broke the mark the mark at the Under the Lights Meet Saturday.
“At regionals, we got Inform by the Three Rivers coach that there was a meet called Under the Lights the following Saturday in Grand Rapids at Houseman Field,” Niles Coach Tony Todd said. “When presented the question to Aiden, “did he want another shot, he was super excited.”
The field was over 100 runners in the 3,200 meters and five heats. Aiden was poised and ready. he was not going to miss this last opportunity and it was as they say, storybook ending to his running career as in his last race he set the school record in the two-mile with the time of 9:52.61.
