BUCHANAN — Host Buchanan wrapped up its Lakeland Conference campaign with a 4-1 win over Berrien Springs Thursday night.

Kenzie Boller and Belle Overmyer staked the Bucks to a 2-1 halftime advantage. It was Boller’s first career goal.

Two more goals from Overmyer, to complete the hat trick in the second half, sealed the victory over the Shamrocks.

Sutherland Philip added a pair of assists for Buchanan, which competes in the VanDenBerg Invitational at Niles Saturday.

The win over Berrien Springs capped off the Bucks’ first conference championship in 10 years.

“I’m excited about how well the girls have done,” said Buchanan Coach Russell Philip. “This group works well together and they aren’t selfish. Their teamwork has created a lot of scoring opportunities, and we are looking forward to a great post season.”
