Roundup: Buchanan improves to 18-1; Rangers swept by Raiders

BUCHANAN — The No. 3-ranked Buchanan softball team defeated visiting Battle Creek Lakeview 9-1 in a non-conference contest Monday.
In Southwest 10 Conference play, Decatur swept host Cassopolis 11-1 and 11-1.

Hailee Kara tossed a three-hitter to earn the victory for the Bucks, who improved to 18-1 on the season.
Buchanan, which had a four-run second and a three-run fifth inning, finished with nine hits.
Aspen Berry had a double for the Bucks.
Decatur at Cassopolis
The Rangers were held to one hit in the opening game and six hits in the nightcap.
Mackenzie Boyer took the loss in the first game. Janayla Franklin suffered the loss in the second game despite allowing four hits.
Cassopolis committed seven errors in the nightcap.
Atyanna Alford doubled in the opener for Cassopolis.
