Cassopolis Middle School student wins county spelling bee

DOWAGIAC — A Cassopolis Middle School student took first place honors at the Cass County Spelling Bee last week at Southwestern Michigan College.
Grace Beaudoin, a sixth grader, won the individual competition for 5th through 8th graders. As a team, Cassopolis received fourth place for 4th grade, first place for 5th grade, second place for 6th grade, first place for 7th grade and they tied for first in 8th grade. Grace’s mother, Heather, and great grandfather, Lowell McMillen, won the fourth grade Cass County Spelling Bee as students.
