Bobcats rout Benton Harbor to remain undefeated

BENTON HARBOR — A total of 14 players scored at least two points as visiting No. 5-ranked Brandywine routed Benton Harbor 69-17 in Lakeland Conference girls basketball Thursday night.
The contest was pushed up a day as a strong winter storm is forecasted for Friday.
The Bobcats, who outscored the Tigers 27-6 after one quarter and never looked back, improve to 7-0 on the season and remain atop the league standings with a 4-0 record.
The Tigers drop to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in Lakeland action.
After outscoring Benton Harbor by 21 points in the opening eight minutes, Brandywine added 20 points in the second quarter while holding the Tigers to two points. The Bobcats led 47-8 at halftime.
The entire second half was played with a running clock.
Mackenna Price nearly outscored Benton Harbor by herself as she came off the bench to lead Brandywine with a game-high 12 points. Ireland Prenkert added nine points, Kadence Brumitt eight points, Karleigh Byrd seven points and Adelyn Drotoz six points.
Pashance Cooper had five points to pace Benton Harbor.
The Bobcats return to action Monday as they host Watervliet in a non-conference contest.
