Brandywine tops Bees to improve to 8-1

BRIDGMAN — The Brandywine boys basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season to edge former BCS Athletic Conference foe Bridgman 55-46 Thursday night.
The win improved the No. 6-ranked Bobcats to 8-1 on the season, while the host Bees dropped to 5-2.
Brandywine grabbed a 13-8 first-quarter advantage and head onto the lead at halftime (32-24) and entering the fourth quarter (40-38).
The Bobcats outscored the Bees 15-8 in the final eight minutes to secure the victory.
Byron Linley led Brandywine with 13 points, while Jaremiah Palmer and Jamier Palmer scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Charlie Pagel had a game-high 17 points for Bridgman, which also got 12 points from Jared Schroeder.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday night as they host Dowagiac in a key Lakeland Conference contest.
