Roundup: Bucks second at Comstock; Bobcats ninth at Montague

COMSTOCK — The Buchanan wrestling team finished second at the Horseshoe Classic hosted by Comstock Thursday.
Allegan captured the team championship with 212.5 points, while the Bucks finished with 156.5 points. The Dowagiac B team finished 15th with 34 points.
Buchanan had seven wrestlers place, including Leland Payne, who captured the 150-pound championship with a 5-0 record. Cooper Mabry (120), Lucas Zeiger (190) and Drew Andersen (215) were all runners-up.
Holden Carrington (106) and Dean Roberts (285) were third and Brayden Sebasty (175) was fourth.
The Chieftains had just two wrestlers place as Hayden Groth was fourth at 215- and Nick Green fifth at 120-pounds.
Eric Scott Holiday Mat Cat Classic
The Brandywine wrestling team placed ninth at the tournament hosted by Montague.
Hudsonville was the team champion with 193 points, which was one better than runner-up Allendale. The Bobcats had 76.5 points.
Gavin Schoff was the lone champion for Brandywine as he went 4-0 to capture the 157-pound title.
Andrew McKee finished fourth at 285, while Kaiden Rieth and Josh Patrolia were both fifth at 126 and 165, respectively.
