NILES - Buchanan's JIm Connors and Niles' Nick Etzcorn have been chosen as the Niles Daily Star Athlete's of the Week for Jan. 23-28.
Connors, a senior on the Bucks' wrestling team, shined at the Southwest Michigan Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Connors won the championship at 189-pounds when he defeating Watervliet's Ben Isbrecht, 13-9.
He also picked up his 100th career win that day, making him the third Buchanan wrestler to reach that milestone this season.
Etzcorn, a senior on the Vikings basketball team, has been a power house for Niles this season.
During the Vikings' Jan. 24 game against Dowagiac, Etzcorn led the team in scoring with 16 points. He also brought down 10 rebounds.
Against Battle Creek Central, Etzcorn brought in 26 points.
