Car just misses going into Indian Lake

CASSOPOLIS - A Dowagiac man received minor head injuries at 5:06 p.m. Monday in a crash near Indian Lake.
William A. Scott, 73, of 32722 Cable Parkway, was traveling southbound on Indian Lake Road, near Lakeview Drive in Silver Creek Township, when his vehicle left the roadway to the west and struck some trees and a fence.
Cass County Undersheriff Richard J. Behnke said Tuesday the vehicle came close, but did not go into, Indian Lake.
Alcohol was believed to be a factor, according to the Sheriff's Office. The driver was wearing his seatbelt.
Dowagiac ambulance transported Scott to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Sheriff Joseph Underwood's office was also assisted by Sister Lakes Fire Department and True's Towing.
E-mail at the Sheriff's Office and at the Daily News were out of service after unusual mid-afternoon thunderstorms Jan. 2 that included thunder, lightning and a downpour of rain.
