Aloha Hang Loose Hawaiian Fantasy Run

DOWAGIAC - The 26th annual Aloha Hang Loose Hawaiian Fantasy Run will be held on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The annual event will feature 7-, 3- and 1-mile courses.
The 7-mile course is for those who can handle the hot sun, while the 3-mile course is set up for those who need a trailing trade wind. The 1-mile course is set up for those who had too many Mai Tais on New Year's eve.
There is no entry fee, just a donation to the Track Coaches Retirement Center on Kaanopli Beach (St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Dowagiac for the Children Nutrition Program for the 2006 medical mission trip to Haiti).
The course is flat, scenic that winds its way through the Hawaiian Islands, including Waikikii, Diamond Head, Keleakala, Lahaina and Akaka Falls (flat, trecherous roads around Lake LaGrange).
There are five divisions in which to run in: Kane, Whine, Keiki, Malihini, Kamaaina (men, women, children and Southwestern Michigan College alumni).
Leis will be awarded to those who run wiki, wiki through their division.
Registration is limited to the first 50,000 to appear at Aloha Towers in Nike Air thongs (meet at Lindy's Restaurant between 10 and 10:30 a.m. - advanced entries are torn up and sacrificed to Madame Pele.
All participants must use a sun lotion with an SPF of at least 30 and bring certificate for falling coconut collision insurance.
