PORTER TOWNSHIP — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury traffic crash at 3:25 p.m. on Friday.

The crash, which took place on US 12 near Vera Drive in Porter Township, involved a pick-up truck drove by Alexander Earl, 26, of Goshen, Indiana, who was stopped to turn left into a driveway, officials said.

Earl’s vehicle was struck by a car driven by Jennifer Kindhart, 30, of Three Rivers, after Kindhart failed to yield the right of way to Earl’s vehicle, officials said.

Kindhart did not appear to slow down before striking Earl’s vehicle.

Alcohol was not a factor and both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to deputies. Kindhart was transported to Three Rivers Hospital for minor injuries. Earl did not suffer any injuries, officials said.

Assisting on the scene was the Porter Township Fire Department. The crash will remain under investigation.
