DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Rotary Club presented its centennial posters to the city council on Monday evening. The posters will be placed on the back of city informational site signs to let the public know about the Rotary’s centennial celebration.
“We will have existed for 100 years come Jan. 1,” said Barbara Groner, the chair of Dowagiac Rotary Club’s centennial committee. “We are taking this whole year coming up to raise the public’s awareness of our existence and what we have done with and for the city of Dowagiac as a service organization.”
Melody Wallace, the president-elect, shared with the council the history of Dowagiac’s Rotary Club, spanning back 100 years ago.
“From the beginning, it has been a pleasure for the Rotary Club to serve Dowagiac for these past 100 years,” Wallace said.
Councilmembers complimented the posters’ designs as a great representation of the Rotary Club and the city.
