SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — Several local students received academic awards from colleges around the state during the 2018-2019 school year.

Niles student named to Saginaw Valley State Dean’s List

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. — David Varga, of Niles, was one of 1,900 Saginaw Valley State University students to earn a spot on the winter 2019 semester Dean’s List. A student must carry a GPA of 3.4 or better and take at least 12 credit hours to be eligible for the list.

Local students recognized by Lake Michigan College

BENTON HARBOR — On June 17, Lake Michigan College announced that 688 students were recognized for academic achievement during the spring 2019 semester.   

The President’s List had 84 students who achieved a 4.0 GPA at full-time status.

The Dean’s List had 104 full-time students and 500 part-time students who achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher.
