Mary A. Smith, 94, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at home with her family by her side.

Mary was born on April 28, 1925, to Ludwig and Minnie Darr, in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1943. On July 7,1951, she married Carroll E. Smith in Dowagiac. Mary was a homemaker and loved reading. Most of all, she cherished her family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carroll Smith; daughters, Jody Blanda, Jan Smith and Julie (Jim) Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Jason Mead, David (Gina) Gleissner, Daniel (Amanda) Gleissner, Meredith Hollingsworth, Evan Smith; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Minnie; son, Jonathon Smith in 2015; and five siblings.
