NILES CHARTER TOWNSHIP – An exhaust issue prompted Walmart employees to call the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department around 4 p.m. Thursday.
A small fire sparked because of the exhaust but was contained with minimal damage, according to Berrien County dispatch.
The fan was above one of the center’s clothing isles in the middle of the store. Police and employees taped off the area to avoid customers walking into the area.
Shortly after the incident, most customers continued to shop and Walmart employees continued to work.
