PAQUETTE: What issues are most important to you?
Published 9:26 am Monday, June 10, 2019
Lately, there have been a lot of developments at the Capitol. The Michigan House, for the first time ever, passed comprehensive auto insurance reform.
Last week the governor signed that legislation into law. The bill guarantees lower rates for drivers, provides drivers more choices on policies and stops price gouging on medical services for accident victims. I was happy to support this bipartisan legislation because I know it is a major concern for you, whom I serve.
I want to continue hearing what issues are most important to you, so I want to announce that I am holding more coffee hours this month. Please look at the locations and hours below and see if they fit your schedule. If they do not, I will make it a priority to find a time when we can meet one on one.
• 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 at Atomic Bean Coffee in Niles
• Noon on Saturday, June 15 at the Three Oaks Public Library
As I have stated before, it is my belief that a state representative should be in direct contact with those he or she represents. That is my full-time job. I am always seeking to figure out the best ways to work my schedule around yours.
On a concluding note, I want to congratulate all the seniors who are graduating and moving on to the next chapter in their lives. If they are going away for a time, I only ask that they remember us back home here in southwest Michigan and consider sticking around to apply their talents to our communities. The nest will always be calling you back home!
Please know that myself and my office are always available to be of service for the good of our community.
