CASSOPOLIS — The Cassopolis soccer team dropped back-to-back Southwest 10 Conference matches against Bangor, including a 5-3 decision Monday afternoon.
The Vikings also defeated the Rangers 2-1 on Saturday in a makeup game from April 15.
Angel Gary had a pair of goals for Cassopolis on Monday, both of which were assisted by Katelyn Waldschmidt.
Aysia Conley opened the scoring for the Rangers, who were tied at 3-3 with Bangor at halftime.
Conley’s goal came on a penalty kick.
“The lack of substitutions has hit us pretty hard,” said Cassopolis coach Kevin Waldschmidt. “Playing three games in the last four days has taken a toll on our girls. We jumped to an early lead tonight with goals from Aysia and Angel, but Bangor never gave up and was able to wear down our midfield. Our girls played a very hard and physical game tonight, but we’re glad to have the two-day break and prepare for Comstock.”
Cassopolis outshot Bangor 17-10. Ariana Cooper had five saves for the Rangers.
On Saturday, Conley scored the lone goal on a penalty kick.
The Rangers again outshot the Vikings, this time 7-5.
Cherwaha Hill had one save for Cassopolis, which hosts Comstock at 5 p.m. Thursday.
