Tuesday, April 9

• 10 to 11a.m. — SkillShare

Join Sandy downstairs in SkillShare making seasonal cards on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. All materials will be provided, but bringing scissors and adhesive would be helpful.

• 10:30 to 11 a.m. — Passport Pals

The community is invited to take part in this special storytime tour of the world. Each week, there will be books, songs, a craft, and other super surprises relating to the special country of the month. Those who attend can also get their passport stamped.

• 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. — MACOG Pop-up Meeting

Attend a pop-up meeting at the Niles District Library to provide input on a new brand for the regional trail system in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. This brand will be used to collectively promote the region’s great trail system and support the growth of the network. This project is supported by the Michiana Area Council of Governments in Indiana and the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission in Michigan.

• 6 to 7 p.m. — STEM Stars

Each week, Meg, the STEM Stars leader, will teach a different STEM topic. This program is complete with a read aloud, and a project to work on.

• 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. — Fiction for Foodies

This book club melds a love for reading and eating. Those who attend can bring a pot luck item to share.

Wednesday, April 10

• Multiple story times

Squealers (birth-18 months) at 9:30 a.m., squeakers (18 months-3 years) at 10 a.m., squigglers (18 months-5 years) at 10:30 a.m., story time (children ages 3+) at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — Basic Computers

Would you like to learn the basics of a home computer? This introductory class discusses topics such as the difference between a desktop and laptop, and understanding the use of applications, operating systems, and file extensions. Class space is limited, so those interested are advised to sign up at the Information Desk, or call (269) 683-8545, ext. 112.

• 1 to 4 p.m. — Michigan Works/ Kinexus

Talent Development Specialists can help people register for unemployment, evaluate their strengths and skills, edit or help update to update their resume, sharpen their interview skills and more. They’ll help people put their best foot forward.

• 7 to 8 p.m. — Happy Destiny Group

The purpose of A.A. group meetings is for A.A. members to share their experience, strength, and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and to help others recover from alcoholism. Open meetings are available to anyone interest in the program or recovery.

Thursday, April 11

• 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  — Storytime

Storytime features three books, a color song, and music and movement. The program will end with a hand stamp, coloring sheet and a craft.

• 1 to 4:30 p.m. — Mahjong

Volunteers are available weekly to teach visitors how to play Mahjong.

• 6 to 7:30 p.m. — Teen Time

Teens are invited to come and hang out. There will be games, books, and a place to study here in the Teen Department. Snacks will be provided.
