Jon M. Grabemeyer, 74, of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Hanson Hospice Center.
Jon was born on Jan. 14, 1945, to Gene and Margaret (Tessman) Grabemeyer, in Benton Harbor.
He attended Eau Claire High School and continued his education at Eastern University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business.
On Aug. 10, 1968, Jon married Mary Louise Hatheway in Benton Harbor. Jon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Hood. Upon discharge, Jon and MaryLou returned to Michigan to raise their family and start his career in sales. Jon worked at Dave Goldbaum Menswear for many years and continued his sales career at Schroeder Mo-tors and retired in 2018 from Tyler Honda.
Jon had a passion for fishing, woodworking and keeping a beautiful lawn. Most of all, Jon loved to spend time with his family and lifelong friends.
Jon is survived by his wife MaryLou Grabemeyer; children, Tesa (Scott) Ulsh, Nick (Deann) Grabemeyer, and Carrie (Jeff) VanGorder; grandchildren Melanie and Jonathan Ulsh, Maggie, Travis and Thomas Grabemeyer and Kaya and Vinny VanGorder; mother Margaret Grabemeyer; sisters Vicki Winberg and Kris (Pete) Kugler.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Gene Grabemeyer, brother Tom Grabemeyer and brother-in-law Dave Winberg.
A time of sharing will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Starks and Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
