July 29, 1931 — March 7, 2019
Jackie was born in Niles, to Charles and Olive Myers on July 29, 1931.
Jackie was the youngest of 11 children graduated from Niles High School in 1949. She worked at many Niles businesses some of which are a soda girl at the Paris Soda Shop, Electrovoice board tech, counter person at Krajci Drug Store, window decorator at Pennys downtown Niles, and many more. Jackie also owned Womacks Drive-in providing many memories for much of the Niles community. She also was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 26.
She enjoyed many activities such as golfing, fishing, water skiing, volunteering for the American Legion Auxiliary, playing bingo and going to the casino, but most of all she loved her family.
Jackie was an extraordinary woman who worked hard well into her 70’s and was a little sassy while managing her kitchen staff, but she was a kind and selfless person. In her life, she raised three generations of children.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Weatherspoon and Scott Weatherspoon; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her love is inside all of us forever to keep us strong. We are all a little rough on the edge with a soft heart just like her.
A memorial will be by the family from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Eagles in Niles on March 31, 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at hovenfunerals.com.
