PAW PAW — The Dowagiac girls basketball team improved to 6-12 on the season with a 49-45 win over host Paw Paw in a Wolverine Conference non-divisional girls basketball game Friday night.

The Chieftains led 37-26 heading into the fourth quarter before Paw Paw rallied.

Dowagiac was able to connect on 6-of-8 free throw in the final eight minutes to preserve the win.

Kellyn Daly led a trio of Chieftains in double figures with 15 points.

Allie Conner and Amiyah Smith finished with 14 and 12 points respectively.

Dowagiac is back on the court Tuesday when it hosts Coloma in a non-conference game. The Chieftains wrap up the regular season by hosting a Wolverine Conference crossover game on Thursday.
