William J. Klumbis, of Dowagiac

William J. Klumbis, 99, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away at Westwood of Niles on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel — 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI.
William was born on May 10, 1919, in West Frankfort, Illinois, to the late Dominick and Barbara (Gouronski) Klumbis.
He was a graduate of Dowagiac Union High Class of 1938.
William served his country while in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was owner and operator of Dowagiac Steel Tank Company for 40 years retiring in 1987.
William is survived by a son — Ronald ((Sherry) Klumbis, of Niles, grandchildren — Sheila Bender, Kristen Sandberg and Nancy Buss; several great-grandchildren; and his companion of many years — Fran Klees.
William is preceded in death by his wife — Marie (Wagoner) Klumbis; step-children — Carolyn Reese, LeRoy Bradley and Richard Bradley; grandson — Mike Bradley; sisters — Rose Bergelis and Helen Zebleckis; and a brother —Dominick Klumbis.
Private family services have been held with William’s final resting place being at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac.
