Abby Stein is a senior at Niles High School.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
AS: Running a PR of 23:53
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
AS: Not running faster than 23:53
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
AS: My mom. Over the past few years, she has gone through so much and she has pushed through it.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
AS: I fell off a treadmill while running during my sophomore year.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
AS: It gives you a different experience and new friends.
How would you give away $50,000?
AS: I would give it away to those who really need it in my city.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
AS: Spend more time doing other extra-curriculars.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
AS: Face the people who saw me fall of the treadmill. I am glad I did.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
AS: I love reading. It distracts me from my current struggles and brings me to a new world.
