NILES — Brandywine and Buchanan played a pair of BCS Athletic Conference basketball games that meant much more than a win or a loss.

The host Bobcats and Bucks got together once again to help raise money for the Brian Parker Foundation with their annual “Cats for a Cure” game.

For the record, Brandywine swept Buchanan, winning the girls game 65-24 and the boys game 50-40.

In the girls game, Kennedy Byrd led a trip of Bobcats in double figures with a game-high 14 points. Zikiyyah Abullah added 12 and Nicole Sachman 11.

Megan Adkerson, Emma Lozmack and Claire Lietz all had six points for the Bucks.

Undefeated Brandywine held off an upset bid by the Bucks.

The Bobcats had to rally from a 20-16 halftime deficit to pick up the victory.

Jaelin Briggs led Brandywine with 11 points. Jordan Abrams added 10.

Chris Young had a game-high 15 points for the Bucks. Logan Carson and Gavin Fazi both had eight.
