Tuesday, Dec. 18
10:30 a.m. — Storytime
Storytime at the Dowagiac District Library follows the ‘Every Child Ready to Read’ model, which encourages children to read, write, talk, sing, and play. Each storytime features a book or two, a hands-on project or learning activity, and a light snack. Letters, numbers, shapes and colors “of the day” are often incorporated into the theme. Designed for ages toddler to 5 years old.
Thursday, Dec. 20
3 to 6 p.m. — Game day
Teens are invited to come play together on the X-Box 360 in the youth area. The library has an assortment of X-Box games and four controllers, as well as tabletop games. Each round lasts 30 minutes so that everyone gets a turn.
Friday, Dec. 21
10:30 a.m. — Storytime

5 to 6 p.m. — Bingo
The library hosts bingo for ages 9 to 17 on the fourth Thursday of every month. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

5:30 p.m. — Food for Fines ends
This will be the last chance to take care of those library fines. Bring in some canned or other pre-packaged food and the library will forgive library fines ($1 per item; 10 items clears all fines). Food for Fines runs Dec. 1 to Jan. 2.
Thursday, Jan. 3
4 p.m. — Puzzles and pizza
The first Thursday of the month, the library will host Puzzles and Pizza for teens. Groups of four will work together to complete a 500-piece puzzle, with pizza being served. Space is limited so, participants must register by 5:30 p.m. the day before.
Sunday, Jan 6.
9 a.m. — Winter reading
program begins
From Jan. 6 to Feb. 16, adults, teens and children can take the winter reading bingo challenge and be entered to win a prize. For some online winter reading fun, keep track of books at wandooreader.com/dowagiacdl/winter-reading-2018 and earn virtual badges.

4 p.m. — Teen trivia
The library will host teen trivia. Trivia categories will change from month to month and might include sports, music, pop culture, book titles, history, holidays, poetry, fast food slogans and more.

6 to 8 p.m. — Puzzle tournament for adults
Celebrate National Puzzle Day with the library by entering a group of two to four in a race to see who can complete a 500-piece puzzle first. A prize will go to the winning team. Sign up on the library’s Facebook events page or email mweston@dowagiacdl.org.
