Daniel “Dan” C. White, 84, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac with Pastor Tom Bird officiating. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Dan was born on July 7, 1934m in Dowagiac, to Frank G. and Mary Jane (Finch) White.
He was a graduate of Dowagiac High School Class of 1952. After graduation he went on to attend Purdue University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Dan proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army as a Company Commander of Combat Engineers until he was honorably discharged. He then went on to join the Dowagiac National Guard Headquarters Company 246 Armor where he served as the Company Commander.
Dan worked at Clark Equipment in Buchanan where he oversaw production as a manufacturing executive for 31 years until retirement.
In 1976, he wed JoEllen Abbey in Dowagiac. Dan was a member of the Dowagiac Elks Lodge 889, the Conservation Club and a founding member of the Thunderbird Golf League. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing and his trips to several locations with his friends. Dan was a true outdoorsman.
Dan is survived by his step-daughter Charmain (Dennis) Benton, of Geneva, Illinois; brother Thomas (Bev) White, of Dowagiac, sister Nancy (Dr. John) Edleman, of Bellaire, Michigan and 22 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife JoEllen and his parents.
