NILES - Niles and Gull Lake will meet this evening at Vicksburg High School for the Class B Regional semifinal game, set to begin at 7:15 p.m.
This will not be the first meeting between these two teams as the Vikings hosted the Blue Devils for their season opener on Sept. 1.
The outcome was in Niles' favor, 70-60 and was also the same night senior Sarah Dreher set the new school record with 39 points in one game.
The entire game stayed fairly close, with the Blue Devils tying the game at 37 at halftime and at 52 in the third.
Gull Lake will be looking for revenge though, as that loss was the only one they suffered this season, coming into tonight's contest with a 22-1 record. Niles is 19-3.
The Blue Devils finished with a perfect 14-0 record in the Wolverine Conference and won their first conference championship in five years.
Gull Lake is led by senior forward Christina Edwards, who gave the Vikes some problems when the teams last played.
Battle Creek Harper Creek will take on Marshall at 5:30 p.m. tonight. That game is also being held at Vicksburg.
The winners of both games will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for the regional finals.
Class C regionals
Bridgman will be hosting the Class C regionals, which also begins this evening.
Cassopolis will take on Watervliet at 8 p.m.
The Rangers took a district win at home on Saturday against White Pigeon.
Kalamazoo Christian and Gobles will follow. The winner of these two games will also play Wednesday evening.
