Athlete Showcase: Niles’ Aynslee Myer

Aynslee Myer is a senior on the Niles golf team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
AM: That I have gotten 12 varsity letters.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
AM: Both of my parents, because they got me started in my sports and have always pushed me to be the best I can be.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
AM: Running into the fence trying to get a ball.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
AM: They are important because they get your name out there, and you meet a lot of different people.
How would you give away $50,000?
AM: I would give it to the sports programs that I play now so they can better the program.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
AM: Probably join more clubs at the school like student council things like that.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
AM: Not get mad at the little things and then letting them affect how I play
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
AM: That there was no sand traps on a golf course.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
AM: That my daughter wants to be just like you.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
AM: Someone paid for my friend’s Starbucks, so they continued and paid for the people behind them.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
AM: To hang out with family or friends or to go shopping for shoes because both of those things bring me joy
